Since 1998, the bank has invested in a reliable, high-performance, state-of-the-art information system. The bank has a private, high-speed telecommunication infrastructure, which connects its Head office and all of its branches through a microwave network, enabling a high-speed transfer of voice and data. The network is doubled and secured by physical lines.
Today, the standard workstation and the network infrastructure allow the bank employees to access not only the on-line real-time banking transaction system but also a large set of applications. BLF is also working on virtualizing all of its desktops on a centralized platform in order to enhance the customer support and to facilitate the deployment of new applications.
In recent years, the bank has implemented various new banking capacities based on new technologies supporting different functionalities. It has been the first to put in place a check imagining solution at the branch level, optimizing the check settlement process and offering customers the ability to check the images of their checks through the Internet.
New systems were also implemented to allow a straight-through processing of transfers, automation of trade finance, automation of bill payment, reduction of paper printing through a new file management and document imaging, a new and powerful consumer loans management system, a powerful E-banking and Phone banking system and a new Sms-based alert system.
Banque Libano-Française is continuously working on improving its information technology and has purchased in 2008 "Temenos T24 Core banking" and a series of "Oracle Applications" including "ERP and Data Warehousing/Business Intelligence". These software programs will be hosted on new "IBM systems" and will be federated through "Oracle Fusion Integration Middleware." A solid and modern Cisco Call Center integrated to an Oracle CRM and directly interfaced with electronic distribution channels is under construction. A revamping of the networking infrastructure will also be catered for, in order to provide the bank's new Information System with the best in class communications layer. All of these new acquisitions will enable the bank's future expansion plans and will boost its organizational capabilities, making it easier for us to successfully achieve its business objectives.
